Our Medical Director

Dr. Hormoz Mansouri is a Board Certified General and Vascular surgeon who has been practicing in Nassau County, New York, since 1972.

As an active member of the medical staff of several hospitals in Nassau County, Dr. Mansouri has held several leadership positions responsible for improving the quality of patient care, medical education and advancement of surgical techniques.

As a full time member of the Department of Surgery at Nassau County Medical Center for several years, he was involved in teaching medical students and surgical residents.

For twelve years, he was Director of the Department of Surgery at New Island Hospital, in Bethpage, NY. After serving as a Member of the Executive Council of Nassau Surgical Society for several years, he was elected President of the Society in 1993.

Dr. Mansouri is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at the State University of New York in Stony Brook and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1976.

Dr. Mansouri has repeatedly been named as an outstanding physician in the Castle Connolly Guide- Top Doctors: New York Metropolitan area.

In addition to his leadership responsibilities in the medical community, Dr. Mansouri has always maintained direct involvement with patient care as the hallmark of his professional career.

In 2002, with 30 years of experience in the practice of General and Peripheral Vascular Surgery under his belt, Dr. Mansouri decided to dedicate his professional activities solely to the modern management of varicose veins disease, a new and exciting frontier. Technological advancements such as the use of laser energy and innovative surgical techniques has made it possible to remove varicose veins without making an incision, all under local anesthesia, in an office ambulatory setting, thereby resulting in minimal or no scars, rapid recovery and a very short recuperation period.

Dr. Mansouri is now a member of the American College of Phlebology, an association of physicians and surgeons specializing in venous disease.

Outside the world of medicine, Dr. Mansouri is an avid reader and writer in Science and Art. Astronomy and Cosmology have been on top of the list of his interests, and he has published numerous articles in Persian language magazines in astronomy, social and cultural issues. He is a poet in his native Persian language and has published a collection of his poems in United States. He values his cultural heritage in art and music and plays several musical instruments. In sports, his heart has been in tennis and snow skiing.

Dr. Mansouri is a proud family man, who lives with his wife of 37 years, Shahin Vida Mansouri (who is our dedicated office manager).
